Stable bids farewell to Bonnie Mares

2019 Singapore Champion 4 year old What’s New and the well performed mare Filibuster both left the stable this morning to commence 2 weeks Pre Export Quarantine before flying to Australia for the upcoming breeding season.

What’s New owned and bred by long time stable clients Greg And Lisa Perry, became a very valuable broodmare proposition with her outstanding 2019 where she won the Group 3 Silver Bowl and Group 2 Stewards Cup and ran a Gallant and unlucky 4th in the Singapore Derby. Also adding to her value in 2020 have been the wins of Pussycat Dream’s 2nd and 3rd foals in Australia and New Zealand.

Pussycat Dream, purchased privately by Cliff for Greg and Lisa has a perfect record with all 3 of her progeny to race winning. The Singapore connection will continue with her 4th foal (now a two year old by El Roca) to be raced by Greg and Lisa Perry, and other stable clients including Glenn “Haybag” Whittenbury, Dennis “the Anchor” Cornwell and Jon McGuiness. Her fifth foal by Tarzino may also head to Singapore. We wish What’s New all the best, and she may well catch up with her old pal Muss Dusty who is already back at Vinery stud.

Mighty Mare What’s New wins the Group 2 Stewards Cup.

Giant 5 year old mare Filibuster will join What’s New on the trip back to Australia. Raced by Mark Chadwick and partners, Filibuster finished her racing career with a creditable 5 wins, 1 second and 2 thirds for a tick under $218,000 in prize money.

Filibuster commenced her racing career in brilliant fashion, winning her maiden by over 3 lengths, and then at her second start breaking the 1100m poly track record running a sizzling 1.04.16 to blow away her rivals. At opposite ends of the size spectrum (What’s New 445kg’s and Filibuster 580kgs) both look to have great futures at stud, and who knows their progeny may end up racing in the Lion City.

Filibuster smashes the 1100m track record at her second start.
