Highly promising 3 year old Zac Kasa made short work of his rivals in the class 4 over 1200m on Sunday 8th of April. Having worn blinkers in his first two starts this campaign which yielded a win and a second, Zac Kasa raced without blinkers on Sunday with a view of stretching him out further in distance in the near future with the second legs of the three year old series over 1400m and 1600m.
Jumping from his awkward gate of 10, jockey Michael Rodd allowed Zac Kasa to gather momentum before easing him across the field to take up the lead. Racing less keenly than his previous start e grey son of Reset found a nice rhythm as he cruised along with a comfortable 2 length lead.
At the top of the straight Rodd slipped big Zac some extra rein and he quickly put the issue beyond doubt, and even eased Zac Kasa down over the last 100m to record a very comfortable victory, his second from 5 starts
Rodd said Zac Kasa was still some way off the finished article despite blitzing his rivals with such a commanding authority, and he is among the more promising horses in the Brown yard. On Hand to enjoy the win was owner Dr Andy Wong and friends. Zac Kasa has now a tick under $100,000 for Zac stable and looks certain to add more to his bank account over the coming weeks.
