One of the stable favorites, Splice has been retired and will start a new carer in the equestrian field at the National Equestrian Center in Singapore with new and delighted owner, Andrea Vennhaus. Splice now 8 years old raced for many seasons in Singapore primarily under the ownership partnership of Tarnpirr Stable and the Evans famous Newbury Racing stable. He raced 51 times for 7 wins, 4 seconds, 6 thirds and 10 fourths, and amassed nearly $326,000 in stake money. Whilst not a top liner, he certainly was a great advertisement for racing in Singapore.
Andrea has a wealth of experience in the equestrian field, and it was love at first sight when she visited Splice for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Andrea was currently leasing a horse from the NEC, but felt he had reached his potential and was looking for a new challenge.
Splice was a very sentimental horse for the stable, having been one of the last horses bred by Cliff’s father Don and to carry the famous Tarnpirr Farm brand. Group 1 winners Markham, Cheviot and a host of Group and Listed winners have been bred and raised at Tarnpirr Farm.
We wish Andrea and Splice all the best, and look forward to the many updates and stories about his new pursuits.
