GENTLE GIANT FINDS NEW CAREER

Stable favorite Cactus Jack was retired after his last start on April 24th. The imposing five year old gelding who tipped the scales at 580kg had 10 starts for two victories. His size and quiet nature quickly endeared him to all the staff, and he will be missed around the stable.

This calm and gentle attitude, coupled with his size had the stable quickly making contact with The Singapore Riding for the Disabled. This wonderful organisation provides the opportunity for disabled people to experience the joy of horse riding and being around horses.

RDA representatives came to see Cactus Jack and quickly fell in love with him. After a vet check and discussions on his racing history, the lightly raced gelding was transported to the RDA last week.

Cactus Jack joins his stable mate Tenzing who also now resides at the Singapore Riding for the Disabled. Tenzing has provided wonderful service for the RDA, and his reputation helped greatly when Auric Stable allowed us to offer Cactus Jack to the RDA. Not only are we pleased that Jack has found a great home, we are delighted that he will be helping and providing enjoyment for those less fortunate than ourselves, as we sometimes can take our involvement with horses for granted.

Special thanks to Haizrin and Cindy at The RDA, and we look to visiting Jack at his new home, and getting regular updates.
