MIGHTY POSEIDON WINS AGAIN

Olympian Stable stalwart Poseidon made it back to back victories with a sparkling win in the OB 97 over 1400m on Sunday 16th. Jockey Vlad Duric retained the mount after his excellent victory at his previous start. Poseidon made a mocjery of the step up in class to win by 2 and 3/4 lengths.

With a small field, tactics looked to very important and pre race it was decided to ride Poseidon just off the pace and within striking distance as the track up until race 6 did look to be favouring on pace runners. Duric duly obliged and had Poseidon idling just of the leaders as they turned for home and angled between the leaders upon straightening. After a brief tussle, Duric pulled the persuader and quickly put the race beyond doubt.

Olympian Stable Manager Astley Phua was again on track to enjoy his favorite horse tasting success for the 8th time from just 25 starts. Poseidon has now amassed over $520,000 and has an incredibly consistent record with a further 7 seconds. Indeed Poseidon has only finished out of the top 4 twice both of theses starts when tackling Group company. The way he is going, Poseidon may well measure up to a group class race.
